In 1911, explorer Hiram Bingham discovered a lost and forgotten city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Located in the Andes Mountains more than 2,000 feet above the Urubamba River, Machu Picchu reveals much about Inca royal traditions and religious rites. In this slide lecture, Professor Jeff Mishur discusses Inca building practices, sculpture and decorative arts, and highlights some of the important elements of Machu Picchu, such as the Royal Mausoleum.
