Event Type: Adult Programs

Date: 10/9/2019
Start Time: 7:00 PM

The Lost World genre of adventure fiction developed out of the publicís fascination with real discoveries of fragments of lost civilizations by adventurers and explorers in the 19th century, such as the tombs of Egyptís Valley of the Kings, the jungle pyramids of the Maya, and the ancient Greek city of Troy. Join us for a visual survey of lost world stories in fiction, nonfiction, and film--a genre which has remained popular to the present day. From Jules Verne and Edgar Rice Burroughs to Michael Crichton and Indiana Jones, and beyond the fringes of the known civilized world. (Presented by Staff.)
